Sunday School:
Our church offers Sunday School classes for people of all ages. The material we use for our children is called “Generations of Grace”
which is a God-centered overview of the whole Bible.
“Generations of Grace" is a unique resource. There are very few Sunday School curricula that truly are based on God’s Word. Many claim to teach the Bible and do refer to verses at times, but are really just simplistic moral lessons extrapolated from Scripture.
"Generations of Grace" is designed to magnify God by studying His character in the pages of Scripture. We can better understand who He is and how we are to respond to Him by studying how His redemptive plan has unfolded and how He has used men to accomplish His purposes.”(http://www.generationsofgrace.com/WhatIsGoG.aspx)
Nursery Ministry:
Our nursery ministry is designed for newborn children to age three. The nursery enables parents to study the Word of God and worship the Lord in adult-level programs free from distraction.
Children are a gift from the Lord and we desire to treat every child that comes into the nursery as a gift, a blessing, and a ministry. We try to make them as happy as possible. We can teach toddlers simple ideas about the Lord: that Jesus loves them, cares for them, and that He wants them to share their toys and love each other.
The time spent with children gives precious opportunities for dedicated workers to influence the children's feelings. These feelings will later develop into concepts and attitudes about being at church, about authorities, and even God.
Children’s Church:
Our desire is to teach all who come through our doors at their level.
This means that for children ages 3-3rd grade who would not be able to digest the more meaty adult services, children’s church is provided to teach them at their own stage. Children’s church is not seen as a baby-sitting service, but rather an important opportunity to teach children the Word of God.
AWANA Ministry:
During the school year our church participates in the AWANA program, which is a wonderful program designed to teach boys and girls about the Gospel of Christ and to train them to serve Him. We meet on Thursday nights from 6:30 - 8:15PM. Classes range from kindergarten through High School.
Nursing Home Ministry:
Once a month our church has a ministry at Riverside Convalescent Hospital in Chico. It is our desire that those who cannot make it to church are not forgotten. They are also our neighbors and we are to love them with Christ’s love. Sharing and caring for those who cannot give back is an often neglected but important part of our service to Christ.
Women’s Missionary Fellowship:
The ladies in our church desire to be a blessing to those who are serving the Lord full time either on the home field or on the foreign mission field. WMF is designed to support and encourage our missionaries and to let them know that we are here praying for them and supporting them.
Phoebe Friendship:
Phoebe Friendship is a subset of WMF that is designed for the ladies in the church to fellowship with one another. Our ladies seek to help new ladies in the church have close relationships and develop a family atmosphere in our church. This ministry is a great way for ladies to get to know one another.
Men’s Prayer Breakfast:
We have a burden for men developing relationships with each other beyond a simple handshake on Sunday. For that reason, every first Saturday of the month at 8:00 AM the men of the church get together to have a time around God’s Word and lift up each other in prayer. We then enjoy breakfast and a time of fellowship. A new and exciting part of this ministry involves completing tasks around the church property and helping individuals and families with physical needs.
Operation One Another:
Operation One Another is a new fellowship program designed to equip people to love one another with God’s kind of love (see 1 Corinthians 13). The Bible is full of descriptions of how to love each other and our desire is to help us build each other up, to bear each other’s burdens, to edify, equip, forgive, be hospitable, admonish, etc.
Operation One Another is a four month commitment to uniting with another family or person in the church who you can purpose to love with God’s kind of love and build a relationship with them.
Our desire is that our church would be known for its love for each other and our love for our neighbors, as Jesus told His disciples in John 13:35, "By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another."(NKJV)
In Touch Ministry:
In Touch is designed for those who cannot make it to our services for one reason or another. It is designed to keep them informed on the current activities in the church and to make sure they know that we love them and are thinking about them when they cannot attend. |
